The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is a cornerstone of federal labor law, addressing crucial areas such as minimum wage, overtime compensation, and recordkeeping requirements. This legislation establishes the fundamental legal protections for employee wages in the United States. While individual states may offer more generous benefits through their own wage and hour laws, the FLSA serves as the baseline, ensuring that employees are compensated fairly, accurately, and promptly for their work.
At The Lore Law Firm, we have extensive experience representing workers in wage and hour claims in both state and federal courts. To foster a deeper understanding of these important legal protections, we are excited to announce our scholarship opportunity. This scholarship invites students to examine the recent developments in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) over the past decade, with a focus on their impact on employees.
We believe in dedication and prosperity and are ecstatic to announce our 2025 FLSA Recent Developments Scholarship. Applicants are encouraged to analyze key changes and developments in wage and hour law, such as increases in minimum salary levels and the resulting legal challenges, and the new Department of Labor (DOL) independent contractor rule and its implications. Through this scholarship, we aim to empower the next generation of professionals to advocate for fair labor practices and protect the rights of workers across various industries.
We will award a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a student in a vocational program or two—to four-year post-secondary institutions. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.
We strongly believe that a good education is the key to success, and no student should miss the opportunity due to financial hardships. We eagerly await your application.
The recipient of the FLSA Recent Developments Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline. To apply please submit the application form below.
